Hola a tod@s! Ya regresé de mi viaje de Boston. Fue increíble. Lo
único que me preocupó fue que después de hablar con todas mis amigas
en la zona, descubrí que ninguna usa protector solar a diario. Por
eso, decidí escribir un post acerca de los beneficios de usar
protector solar.
•       El protector solar te protege de los dañinos rayos UV y contra el
cáncer de piel
•       Ayuda a prevenir el envejecimiento prematuro: Piensa en esto, es
mucho mas fácil prevenir el envejecimiento prematuro que corregir los
daños causados a tu piel.
•       Protege proteínas como colágeno y keratina que mantienen tu piel firme y lisa
•       Ayuda a prevenir la contracción de cataratas y supresión inmunológica.

Usar protector solar todos los días no toma mucho tiempo y a largo
plazo, te dará resultados increíbles. No importa si vas a tomar sol o
si simplemente caminaras por la calle en un día de invierno. Nunca
olvides que tu piel es el órgano más grande de tu cuerpo. ¡Cuídalo!

Hey everyone! I just got back from Boston, where I had the most
incredible time. However, the only damper to my trip was finding out
that none of my friends wore sun screen daily. Thus, they gave me the
inspiration to write a short post about the benefits of using
sunscreen
•       Sun screen protects you from damaging UV rays. It helps you prevent
skin cancer.
•       It helps prevent premature aging: Keep this in mind, it’s much
easier to prevent this type of damage than to try to correct the
damages caused to your skin
•       It protects proteins such as collagen and keratin that maintain your
skin’s smoothness and firmness
•       It helps prevent cataracts and immune suppression
Using sun screen every day does not take much time and in the long
run, it will give you great results. It doesn’t matter if you are
sunbathing or just strolling around the streets on a cold winter day.
You still need to care for your skin. Don’t forget that your skin is
your biggest organ: Take care of it!!

Sorry for being so lost!

Sé que llevo mucho tiempo sin escribir. Aun cuando es inexcusable para bloggeras desaparecerse como yo lo hice, he estado en parciales estas últimas dos semanas y además corté con mi novio. Ahora es más entendible, ¿verdad?

También voy a advertirles que no escribiré en varios días porque iré a Boston a celebrar con un amigo por su cumpleaños.

Después de toda esta explicación, quería oir de ustedes un poco. La tendencia en las pasarelas durante la semana de la moda en NY fueron los labios rojos.

¿Qué crees? ¿Usas a menudo pintura de labios roja?

OK, I know I haven’t in forever and as a blogger, that’s pretty inexcusable. However, I have been going through midterms the last two weeks and I also broke up with my boyfriend. Now you get it right? I’m not that bad.

I have a short warning, I won’t be posting for the next couple of days since I will be going to Boston to celebrate my friend’s 21^st b-day.

After all of that, I just wanted to hear back from you guys. The biggest makeup trend last week during NY fashion week was a bold red lip.

El día de San Valentín se acerca y ahora muchísimas promociones y comerciales se centran alrededor del amor y los novios. Como estudiante de mercadeo, a mi me encantan los comerciales que no siguen la normativa. Mi hermanita me mandó este comercial de Lancomeque quería compartir con ustedes. Me pareció demasiado lindo, inspirador, y además super informativo acerca de maquillaje.

Valentine’s Day is approaching and most advertisements are based around love and copules. As a marketing students, I love to see ads that differ from the norm and stand out in my mind. My lil sis knows this best and she sent me an amazing advertisement from Lancome. I really wanted to share it with you. I found it inspiring, cute, and also, informative about make-up.

Estaba buscando inspiración para este post y le tuitee a Justyna de Chameleonic, quien tiene un blog incredible. Su respuesta fue: “Escribe con el corazón.” Esta idea suena sencilla pero es un poco más difícil en práctica. En realidad, mi corazón ha sufrido un poquito estos últimos días pero hay algo en mi vida que siempre me hace feliz: Mi familia. He tenido la suerte de tener a la mejor familia que siempre me ayuda. Yo siempre escribo de belleza, estilo, y moda pero hoy tengo que darle las gracias a mi familia por ser quienes son. No sé que haría sin ustedes. ¡Los AMO!

I was looking for inspiration for this post as I tweeted to the amazing blogger Justyna from Chameleonic. She gave me a great advice: “Write and post from your heart.” This idea is so simple yet so complicated. My heart has not been in the best place the last couple of days but there is something that always makes it skip a beat: My family. I have been blessed with the most fantastic family members that have always been there for me. Although my posts are always about fashion and style, I needed to take today to thank my family for being the best people I know. I wouldn’t be here without you.  I love you J

Challenge Accepted

 

Mi amiga Dany de Nany’s Klozet retó a sus lectoras a usar colores super brillantes. Yo tengo un cardigan de un color amarillo neon increible y pensé que sería excelente para el reto. Yo sé que las bloggers siempre tienen fotos espectaculares (como las de Dany) pero yo no tenía quien tomara mi foto. Así que paré a gente en el medio del campus de mi uni y les pedí que tomaran mi foto, por eso mis fotos no quedaron tan lindas. El punto es que me encantó el reto de Dany, fue divertido.

Por cierto, no sé como esté el clima donde tu estás, pero acá esta calientito. Estoy en NY y la temperatura llegó a los 15 grados. Pareciera que llego la primavera al norte

My friend Dany from Nany’s Klozet challenged her readers to wear a neon color print. I had the most amazing bright yellow cardigan and took on the challenge. Although I know bloggers always have the most amazing pictures (like Dany), I had no one to take my picture so I asked random people walking around campus to help me out. As such, my pictures turned out a bit rushed and not as amazing as Dany’s. I just wanted to enjoy the pop of color this season.

Btw, isn’t this weather crazy?! Here is upstate NY the temperature rose up to the high 50s and low 60s. It feels like spring
